As promised, here is another natural skincare feature! If you missed my story about why we should all avoid chemicals in our skincare check it out HERE in the meantime, I recently discovered the skin care range by Biossance who use biotechnology to to make a positive impact on the world – sounds good? I thought so too!
Without harming animals or the environment, Biossance natural skincare create effective and safe skincare whilst being mindful of the planet. Prioritising sustainability in production by using tree-free packaging made from from biodegradable sugarcane paper. No bleach chemicals, dyes, or foil are used and all products come in recyclable bottles.
Additionally, the company supports non-profit organisation Zagaya who help fight against malaria through education, improved technology and access to high quality anti-malarials. Of every product purchased $1 goes to the Zagaya foundation.
Our body’s largest organ and biggest defense against environmental factors is the skin which is why it’s so important to treat it with some TLC (tender loving care). Biossance natural skincare products are charged with squalane (C30H62) – this is their mega-moisturising molecule produced naturally by the human body. When we produce less squalene, our skin can become rough, dry and vulnerable to our environment. Using products containing squalene hydrate and lock in the skins moisture. Shockingly, in the past squalene was harvested from shark livers having a horrible environmental impact. Biossance uses sugarcane to create a 100% plant-based squalene which is used in their products.
I tried the following products:
Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel
This light weight hydrating eye gel reduces the look of puffiness and dark circles, illuminating your eyes by improving microcirculation on the skin surface. Living a busy lifestyle with a super varied schedule, I look sleepy at the best of times, hydrating eye gel really helps settle tired eyes.
Vitamin C Rose Oil
Evening skin tone and texture with Vitamin C helping to fight free radicals leaving the skin glowing. Chios Crustal Oil which has been shown to support collagen production and Damascus Rose Extract which boosts cadence and releases daily stressors on the skin.
Antioxidant Cleansing Oil
Using 8 different plant-derived extracts to deliver powerful vitamins to the skin while soothing, nourishing and calming. This antioxidant rich oil based cleanser helps remove make up by breaking down and dissolving make up (You know how mascara just lingers? I find oil based cleansers do the trick!) It also leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturised after cleansing.
This is Biossance’s baby. Straight up squalane oil to hydrate moisturise accelerate cell turnover and make your skin feel great! I found this oil was best used after cleansing your face, right before bed!
