Visiting Hawaii has always been a childhood dream of mine. Living in Australia surrounded by beautiful beaches, tropical Queensland in the north and Islands along the coast it seemed like a far away dream. Having recently relocated to my home away from home Los Angeles, Hawaii became a reality, being only a stone throw away. I spent 7 days and 7 nights in the spectacular O’ahu nicknamed ‘the gathering place’. Taking a healthy approach to life means taking a healthy approach to holidays too. Finding places to exercise whilst exploring, heating locally whilst eating healthy are always a priority when I am somewhere new. Ihope you enjoy my healthy Hawaii travel guide! Aloha!
EXPLORE
Koko Crator Trail Hike
Take the 1,408 railroad ties up to the summit Pu’u Mai. The hike in the heat can be tiring but the reward is at the top of Koko Crater which provides breathtaking view of eastern Oahu and the Pacific. Wear sturdy shoes and sunscreen and bring water! There are a few places you can hang out at the top and take in the spectacular view. From 1,208 feet, you have unobstructed 360-degree views of Diamond Head, bright blue waters of Hanauma Bay, Makapu’u Head and Hawaii Hai.

Chuns Reef Beach
This quiet beach is accessible by a tiny opening between the crush of houses lining the Kam Highway from Haleiwa to Sunset Beach. Explore the rock pools left of the shore. The waves break thick and to the right, great for longboarding it dumps you into a nice deep channel This reef is a great place to turtle watch. Walk along the shore, look closely and carefully and you will most likely find huge turtles chilling close to the shore.
